Macanese painter, Luís Deméé was born in 1929. He attended the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and presented his thesis in 1960, being awarded a grade of 20. In the following year he was invited to be assistant Professor at that same institution. H did field trips to the Middle East, Greece, Germany, England, Belgium and the Netherlands. On a first stage, he drew buildings and streets, but he soon felt attracted by the Macanese arbour and by the sea. From a certain time on, his painting became more and more abstract. Luís Demée is the author of a unique work in the European art, so evident in his acrylics, watercolours, frescoes, tapestries and silk-screens.
