Manuel Casal Aguiar

Portuguese painter (1941), Manuel Casal Aguiar graduated in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, where, later, he taught. He also attended the Saint Martin’s School of Art and the National Gallery in London. He was awarded a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in England. He served his military service in Timor, country which marked his paintings. He exhibits regularly in and outside Portugal. He is a founding member of the Lugar do Desenho – Júlio Resende Foundation.
